Sustainability Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Sustainability Officer (Intern) to support our sustainability initiatives, particularly in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) calculations, carbon markets, and sustainable business practices. The ideal candidate will blend technical sustainability knowledge with strong marketing and business development skills, helping to drive the organization’s mission towards environmental responsibility and market leadership.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and analyze Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for products and services.
• Research and interpret developments in carbon markets and carbon offset strategies.
• Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns to promote sustainability initiatives.
• Engage in LinkedIn networking to build relationships with sustainability professionals, potential clients, and partners.
• Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities in the sustainability sector.
• Assist in preparing sustainability reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field (current students or recent graduates preferred for internship).
• Strong knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and tools.
• Understanding of carbon markets and carbon footprint calculations.
• Proficiency in digital marketing techniques and platforms.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA).
• Prior experience in sustainability-focused marketing or business development roles.
• Knowledge of sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI, CDP).
• Familiarity with environmental policy and regulatory frameworks.
• Creative problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

• Minimum experience: Not specified (internship role; open to students and recent graduates).
• Relevant experience in sustainability, environmental consulting, LCA, digital marketing, or related fields is a plus.
