Systems Engineer-Azure & Citrix

Job Summary

The Systems Engineer-Azure & Citrix will be responsible for managing and supporting Azure Cloud environments, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Citrix technologies including XenApp, XenDesktop, and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD). This role requires expertise in virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint technologies to ensure seamless delivery and troubleshooting of virtual desktop and application services. The engineer will collaborate with infrastructure and application support teams to resolve issues and optimize system performance, contributing to the organization’s IT infrastructure stability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure Cloud Desktop and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) hosting environments.
• Administer Citrix technologies including web interface, storefront, Director, Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA), Receiver, XenApp, XenDesktop, and CVAD.
• Handle virtual machines hosted on VMware ESX environments and manage ICA policies in XenApp and XenDesktop.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues with excellent problem-solving skills and drive root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with various infrastructure and application support groups to mitigate and resolve technical issues.
• Utilize PowerShell scripting for automation and management of Windows endpoints (thin and thick clients).
• Monitor system performance and analyze logs using tools such as Splunk and Kibana (basic knowledge preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in Azure Cloud technologies, specifically Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Proficient in Citrix technologies: web interface, storefront, Director, VDA, Receiver, XenApp, XenDesktop, and CVAD.
• Experience with VMware ESX virtualization platform.
• Knowledge of NetScaler, AppSense, and Windows endpoint technologies (thin and thick clients).
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
• Basic understanding of performance monitoring tools like Splunk and Kibana.
• Familiarity with networking and storage concepts is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of App-V, AppDNA, and related application virtualization technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Citrix Cloud and AWS Workspaces.
• Advanced skills in performance monitoring and log analysis using Splunk and Kibana.
• In-depth knowledge of networking and storage infrastructure.
• Additional certifications in Azure, Citrix, VMware, or related technologies.

Experience

• Minimum relevant experience working with Azure Cloud, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and VMware environments.
• Proven track record in managing and supporting virtual desktop infrastructure and cloud-hosted virtual machines.
• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and endpoint issues in enterprise environments.
