Solace Engineer

Job Summary

The Solace Engineer will be responsible for engineering, configuring, and performing administration activities for Solace messaging systems. This role plays a crucial part in the Middleware Engineering team, ensuring robust messaging infrastructure and seamless integration with various platforms. The successful candidate will contribute to setting up and maintaining event-driven architectures across cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering, configuration, and administration activities for Solace messaging.
• Architect and deploy messaging infrastructure using Solace PubSub+ / Advanced Event Mesh across cloud environments.
• Define and implement event-driven strategies, leveraging Solace features like event mesh, topic hierarchies, and dynamic routing.
• Configure Solace components for optimal performance, ensuring robust security and access control.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate Solace with microservices, APIs, and external platforms (e.g., Kafka, JMS, MQTT).
• Troubleshoot complex messaging issues, including latency, throughput, and durability concerns.
• Automate setup and monitoring processes using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Provide level 3 support, including incident resolution and root cause analysis, as well as training and knowledge transfer for internal teams.

Qualifications

• Essential Skills:
  • Solace Messaging
  • Cloud (AWS is preferred)
  • Scripting using Korn Shell Scripts, Perl, etc.
• Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years of total experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience specifically in Solace messaging.

Preferred Skills

• Nice to have technology stack includes:
  • TIBCO, IBM MQ, and IBM ACE.
  • EKS/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • AWS certifications on DevOps/SysOps/Architect track preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Environment

• Locations available: Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune.
• Official remote work for the first month, followed by office presence.
