Job Summary
The Data Analytics role is critical in leveraging data science and machine learning techniques to drive strategic decisions and optimize processes within construction projects. The role involves developing predictive models, improving project execution, and enhancing safety and risk assessments. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable technical solutions and drive data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Think strategically and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business use cases and solutionize with scalable technical solutions.
- Analyze construction project data and develop predictive models using traditional data science methods and Generative AI.
- Apply machine learning algorithms to improve key processes such as project execution, safety, and risk assessment.
- Design, lead, and own scalable end-to-end development of predictive, ML models, from hypothesis generation to deployment and monitoring.
- Build, validate, and optimize machine learning and statistical models using best-in-class techniques and quality control models developed by junior data scientists and ML engineers.
- Work closely with engineering and business teams to understand the data, business terms, and processes to create, suggest, and implement solutions accordingly.
- Stay current with advancements in data science and machine learning to continually enhance the company's data capabilities.
- Use statistical techniques to detect anomalies and optimize operational workflows, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with product managers and business leaders to drive the implementation of data-driven decisions, with a plus for the ability to visualize insights using BI tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, and analytics, with a proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions.
- Proven experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies and communicate them to stakeholders in a non-technical way.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
- Proficiency in machine learning, AI, and statistics frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Strong experience in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, clustering, classification, regression, and multivariate techniques.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
- Strong understanding of SQL and working with relational databases.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with construction-related data or similar industries (e.g., engineering, manufacturing).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure preferably), knowledge about Azure ML Services & Snowflake.
- Good to have knowledge of NLP (Natural Language Processing) and Computer Vision.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., ACC, Procore, BIM tools) and knowledge of project management methodologies.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and analytics.
