Liferay Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Liferay Backend Developers to join our team, specializing in developing and maintaining enterprise-grade portal applications using the Liferay DXP platform. The role involves end-to-end backend development, customization, and Liferay administration, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable portal solutions. Your expertise will directly impact our digital transformation initiatives and client success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Liferay-based backend solutions for enterprise portal environments.
• Customize and configure Liferay DXP modules, portlets, and third-party integrations.
• Collaborate with UI/front-end developers to integrate and deploy components within the Liferay framework.
• Perform Liferay administration tasks such as managing user roles, permissions, and portal configurations.
• Assist with Liferay theming, layout management, and portal customization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure platform stability, high availability, and optimal performance.
• Contribute to enhancing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for Liferay applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of hands-on experience in Liferay development (preferably on Liferay DXP).
• Strong understanding of Liferay architecture, portlet development, and service builder.
• Proficient in Java/J2EE and frameworks such as Spring.
• Experience with REST API development and integration.
• Solid understanding of database integration (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred).
• Familiarity with Liferay administration (user roles, permissions, configurations).
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Liferay theming concepts and layout templates.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo).
• Exposure to cloud deployment environments (AWS, Azure, or similar).
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Certification in Liferay or related technologies is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 to 7 years in Liferay development, including plugin/module development and portal administration.
• Relevant experience with enterprise portal solutions and backend integration.

Environment

• Work Location: Gurgaon, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai (Work from Office).
• Work Setting: Collaborative office environment with cross-functional teams.
• May require occasional extended hours during critical project phases.
• Interview Mode: MS Teams (Virtual).
