Business Development Executive

Job Summary

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for engaging prospective Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) business owners, guiding them through product demonstrations, and converting qualified leads into sales. This role plays a critical part in expanding the customer base, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, tech-savvy, and adept at working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate conversations with prospective SME business owners and guide them towards product demonstrations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders of the company.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to troubleshoot client issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Close sales with qualified leads to generate new business and meet client needs.
  • Promote premium products to potential clients and secure optimal deals.
  • Build and nurture relationships with existing clients through proactive communication (calls, emails, etc.) to encourage repeat business.
  • Track sales cycle progress monthly and quarterly to ensure customer acquisition targets are met.
  • Highlight the company’s unique value proposition and brand strengths during client interactions.

Qualifications

  • MBA graduates are preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Business Development Executive.
  • Strong skills in problem identification and objection resolution.
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to explain complex technical matters in simple terms to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent phone and cold calling abilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing, unstructured startup environment.

Preferred Skills

  • In-depth experience in market research within SME SaaS (Software as a Service) or SMB (Small and Medium Business) segments.
  • Familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools and sales tracking software.
  • Negotiation and deal-closing skills.
  • Networking and stakeholder management.
  • Exposure to B2B sales environments.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Business Development Executive.
  • Experience in a fast-growing, startup environment is highly desirable.

Salary
