Director of Engineering
The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Engineering to provide the technical
vision and leadership for our 15-20 person engineering team. You will partner with our
existing Engineering Manager to scale our technical capabilities, drive key architectural
decisions, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation. Your mission will be to ensure
our engineering organization is a powerhouse that can simultaneously support complex
enterprise partnerships and maintain rapid, agile product development across our diverse
platforms. This role is critical to our next chapter of growth, offering the unique challenge of
balancing deep technical complexity with strategic business impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Vision & Architecture:
• Define and evangelize the long-term technical strategy
• Architect scalable, resilient, and cost-effective systems that support high-volume ad
serving, real-time bidding (RTB), and large-scale data processing.
• Drive pivotal technology decisions, establishing engineering standards and best
practices for a multi-product environment.
• Balance the roadmap to manage technical debt while maintaining high feature
velocity.
2. Engineering Leadership & Team Scaling:
• Partner with the Engineering Manager on team structure, hiring, talent
development, and performance management.
• Scale engineering efficiency and innovation by leveraging the latest advancements in
AI and tooling.
• Cultivate a world-class engineering culture rooted in ownership, quality,
collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Establish clear career progression frameworks and mentorship programs to grow and
retain top talent.
3. Technical Partnerships & Enterprise Integration:
• Lead the technical due diligence and integration strategy for key supply and
enterprise partner relationships (e.g., Meta, Google, TikTok, major DSPs/SSPs).
• Architect robust solutions for complex third-party API integrations and marketplace
platforms.
• Define the technical standards and processes for onboarding new partners swiftly
and reliably.
• Manage technical stakeholder relationships with enterprise clients and platform
providers.
4. Engineering Operations & Delivery:
• Implement and optimize engineering processes that ensure both high reliability
(meeting enterprise SLAs) and startup agility.
• Define and monitor KPIs for system health, engineering productivity, and release
quality.
• Oversee DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure strategy for our multi-region, high
availability cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Champion a security-first mindset, ensuring compliance in all aspects of data
handling and processing.
Qualifications & Experience
• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in a senior technical
leadership role (Director, Sr. Manager, or Head of Engineering).
• A proven track record of scaling high-performing engineering teams from 15 to 50+
members, including managing technical leads and managers.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in the Ad Tech ecosystem (programmatic advertising,
DSPs/SSPs, RTB, attribution) and/or high-scale data platforms.
• Strong background in designing and operating distributed systems, microservices
architecture, real-time processing, and public cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or
Azure).
• Exceptional strategic and business acumen, with experience making technical
decisions that directly impact revenue, partnership growth, and market expansion.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical
concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives and
partners.

• Experience in companies with hybrid business models (e.g., SaaS + Enterprise
Services).
• Background working in or knowledge of the APAC digital advertising market.
• Experience leading technical integrations for M&A or major strategic partnerships.
• A public presence in the tech community (e.g., open-source contributions,
conference speaking, blog).
Success Metrics for first 90 Days
• Complete a comprehensive technical audit and establish a 12-month engineering
roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Implement a foundational set of engineering metrics and KPIs to measure team
productivity and system reliability.
• Launch one major technical initiative (e.g., infrastructure optimization, process,
architectural refactor).
• Develop a hiring plan for key roles and begin active recruiting to strengthen the
team.
• Create and socialize a standardized technical framework for evaluating and
onboarding new supply partners.
