Job Summary
The Software Development Engineer (SDE) - Test is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing strategies and frameworks to ensure the quality and performance of software applications. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality products and contributes to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that software products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated test scripts and frameworks to validate software functionality.
- Collaborate with software developers to understand project requirements and identify testing needs.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, logging defects and tracking their resolution.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
- Maintain and enhance existing test frameworks and tools.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies (e.g., unit testing, integration testing, system testing).
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
- Understanding of web services and API testing.
