FPGA Architect (Telecom/Aerospace)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and highly talented FPGA Architect with strong telecom or aerospace expertise to join our team in Chennai. This role is critical for the design and implementation of high-performance FPGA designs that support wireless communication and aerospace systems. The FPGA Architect will drive innovation through research and development, optimizing designs for efficiency and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system modeling, architecture, and implementation of high-performance FPGA designs for wireless communication and aerospace systems.
• Research and develop logical synthesis, netlist partitioning, placement, and routing optimizations for FPGA prototyping.
• Optimize FPGA designs for latency, throughput, power consumption, performance, and area efficiency.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support the development process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on product requirements and technical specifications.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech or equivalent degree.
• Strong knowledge of System on Chip (SoC) architecture, including CPU, GPU, memory hierarchy, interconnects, and accelerators.
• Hands-on experience with hardware simulators and SoC design (integration, peripherals, bus design, RTL coding in Verilog/VHDL, CDC, LINT).
• Proficiency in RTL coding, synthesis, place-and-route, static timing analysis (STA), power analysis, and back-end flow.
• Familiarity with advanced digital verification methodology (UVM).
• Prior experience integrating Nios, MPIS, MicroBlaze, ARM Cortex, GTX/GTH transceivers, and various IP cores (10GE MAC/DMA controller/PCIe/CPRI/JESD/FFT).
• In-depth knowledge of AXI/AHB AMBA bus-based complex multi-master and slave systems, along with L2/L3 switching, TCP/IP, and network protocols.
• Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Xilinx Vivado, SystemGenerator, and ModelSim/QuestaSim.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python for modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in managing the product regulatory approval process.
• Ability to organize technical presentations to customers and industry groups.
• Awareness of new industry developments and translating those into viable solutions.

Experience

• 12+ years of relevant experience in FPGA design and architecture, particularly in the telecom or aerospace sectors.

Environment

• Work setting is hybrid, based in Chennai, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work.
