Job Summary
The Web Analytics Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining web and app tracking frameworks to collect actionable insights. This role contributes to the organization's goals by ensuring accurate data collection and integration, facilitating data-driven decision-making across departments.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain web and app tracking frameworks using tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, ObservePoint, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, and Segment.
- Configure and deploy tags, triggers, and variables within Tag Management Systems like Google Tag Manager (GTM), Tealium, and Adobe Launch.
- Ensure that first-party data collection complies with regulations including GDPR, CCPA, and cookie consent frameworks.
- Instrument tracking code using JavaScript/TypeScript for event-driven analytics.
- Integrate analytics data with data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines for analytics data handling.
- Conduct quality assurance (QA) testing of tracking implementations across various devices and browsers.
- Utilize tools such as Chrome Debugger, ObservePoint, and GA Debugger for troubleshooting and monitoring data discrepancies to maintain integrity.
- Create dashboards and reports on user behavior, funnels, and conversion rates, defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for business and product teams.
- Enable A/B testing and personalization platforms with accurate data feeds.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, marketers, UX researchers, and data scientists to translate business questions into tracking requirements.
- Educate teams on the effective use of analytics data to inform their strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in web and app tracking frameworks such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and Mixpanel.
- Experience with Tag Management Systems, specifically GTM, Tealium, and Adobe Launch.
- Strong coding skills in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery, Snowflake, and Redshift.
- Competence in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations, specifically GDPR and CCPA.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data integrity and quality assurance.
