Job Summary
The AVP Origination will be responsible for sourcing and developing investment opportunities for a private credit fund. This role involves managing the entire deal cycle from origination to closure, contributing to the growth and success of the fund by identifying and securing high-quality credit investments. The position reports directly to the Director - AIF Credit (Rajeev Manwani) and requires a proactive approach to deal sourcing, relationship management, and deal execution.
Responsibilities
- Identify and source new investment opportunities across various credit structures, ensuring alignment with the fund’s investment criteria.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with promoters, CFOs, institutional intermediaries, and other key stakeholders to facilitate deal flow.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, financial analysis, and valuation of potential investment targets.
- Lead negotiations and coordinate the deal closure process, including documentation and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate risk, structure deals, and ensure successful execution.
- Monitor market trends and maintain a robust network to stay ahead of industry developments and opportunities.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, or related financial sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully sourcing and closing deals within credit markets.
- Strong network within the financial industry, including relationships with promoters, CFOs, and institutional intermediaries.
- Excellent financial analysis, valuation, and due diligence skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related fields; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
