Java Backend Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Java Backend Developers to join our team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in backend development, specifically within the ed tech industry, and must have prior experience managing a team of at least 3 members. This is a full-time position with two openings, offering the opportunity to work on innovative educational technology solutions and drive impactful learning experiences. The selected candidate is expected to start within 1 month of selection.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 3 backend developers, overseeing daily tasks and ensuring effective collaboration.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications for ed tech platforms.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
• Ensure high code quality, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices for backend development.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Java backend development.
• Proven experience managing a team of at least 3 developers.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience in the ed tech industry is required.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with popular Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or Hibernate.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of data security and privacy regulations in the ed tech sector.
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Java backend development.
• Prior experience in the ed tech industry is required.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a team of 3 or more developers.
