Ab Initio Developer

Job Summary

Join our team as an Ab Initio Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust ETL workflows. In this role, you will extract, transform, and load data from various sources while ensuring optimal performance and data integrity. Your efforts will support the organization's business intelligence and analytics needs and foster a culture of best practices in data integration and ETL development.

Responsibilities

• Design and Develop ETL Workflows: Create comprehensive ETL processes using Ab Initio to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
• Data Profiling and Quality Analysis: Perform in-depth data profiling, validate data integrity, and troubleshoot issues to ensure consistency.
• Optimize ETL Jobs: Enhance Ab Initio jobs for improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Data Processing and Integration: Develop and maintain data processing flows that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate on Best Practices: Work closely with team members to implement and enforce industry best practices in ETL development.
• Technical Support and Documentation: Provide technical support in production environments and document processes, technical specifications, and critical knowledge for future reference.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• ETL Experience: 5+ years of experience in ETL development using Ab Initio (preferably 4-5 years of focused experience).
• Ab Initio Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio components including GDE, EME, Express>It, Continuous Flows, and other relevant modules.
• SQL and Database Skills: Proficient in SQL with robust knowledge of database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
• Data Quality Focus: Solid understanding of data quality principles and experience in data validation processes.
• Performance Tuning: Proven ability to troubleshoot and tune ETL jobs for optimal performance.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and cloud-based data integration techniques.
• Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Experience

• 5+ years of ETL development experience utilizing Ab Initio tools, with a preference for candidates having 5 years of focused experience in similar roles.
