Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer / Lead Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive product development experience and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance web and mobile applications. This role will significantly contribute to elevating our technology infrastructure within the hospitality sector.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance web and mobile applications.
• Work across the stack with Go, React, and Node.js.
• Architect and optimize APIs and microservices to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
• Deploy, monitor, and manage cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes and AWS.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build seamless user experiences.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in software development.
• Continuously improve system performance, observability, and developer productivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience: 6+ years as a Backend Engineer, with a strong focus on production-grade applications.
• Golang Proficiency: 5+ years of working experience with Golang for back-end development.
• Technology Skills:
  • Familiarity with React Native (a plus).
  • Experience with React.js or Node.js (a plus).
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API development.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS) - 4+ years.
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Development Focus: Experience in building offline-first applications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the Point of Sale (POS) or payments industry.
• Knowledge of GraphQL and gRPC.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Exposure to performance tuning and high-traffic system optimizations.

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years of product development experience, with a focus on backend development.
