Job Summary

The Team Lead – Payroll Accounting will oversee a team dedicated to ensuring the complete, accurate, and timely completion of accounting activities related to payroll functions. This role will report to the Accounting & Reporting Manager within the General Accounting (GA) team based in Bangalore, India. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements while managing various payroll accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure timely monthly payroll accounting, payroll-related accruals, salary disbursements, and payroll clearing for all countries managed.
  • Perform general accounting activities and record financial transactions related to pre and post payroll.
  • Conduct regular investigations and reconciliations of all payroll-related accounts to identify discrepancies.
  • Perform accounting analysis and generate reports to support decision-making for finance and business leaders.
  • Execute month-end book closing activities.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors on relevant issues.
  • Initiate quality improvement initiatives in the Record to Report (R2R) payroll area.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP is essential.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in general accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and processing journal entries.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll-related accounting activities, including team management.
  • Experience in Record to Report (R2R) processes is required.
  • Flexibility to work in varying shift timings.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Additional experience in financial analysis and reporting would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations specific to payroll accounting.

Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
  • Preferably includes at least 3-5 years in payroll accounting.

Environment

  • Work setting is primarily on-site in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, with potential for a hybrid work model.
