Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our team. As our first DevOps Engineer, the ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines and automation processes on GCP. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with GCP, specifically in setting up scaling systems, writing scripts, and automating processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines on the Google Cloud Platform for efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Demonstrate expertise in setting up a high-frequency trading platform with expectations of near-zero latency across systems.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate CI/CD processes into the software development lifecycle.
• Configure and manage GCP services to support scalable and automated deployment workflows.
• Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager to manage GCP resources.
• Write scripts and automation tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
• Optimize and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to DevOps and GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-7+ years of professional experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong expertise in setting up scaling systems on GCP, utilizing services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, and/or App Engine.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go) to automate tasks and develop tools.
• Experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure as code principles and hands-on experience with Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools on GCP (e.g., Stackdriver, Prometheus).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• GCP certification (e.g., Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer) is a plus.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
