Head – EHS

Job Summary

The Head – EHS will lead the entire Environment, Health & Safety function at Dalmia Polypro’s Nashik manufacturing site. This senior leadership role is responsible for establishing and maintaining EHS governance, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, managing plant safety and environmental standards, and fostering a safety-first culture. The role involves working closely with the Site Head and departmental leaders to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations while driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Responsibilities

• EHS Leadership & Governance: Own and oversee the EHS function, develop and implement policies, standards, and systems, and promote a strong safety culture across the plant.
• Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, safety, and statutory requirements, maintain documentation, and coordinate inspections and audits.
• Plant & Infrastructure Safety: Oversee safety across manufacturing operations, infrastructure, utilities, and facilities; conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
• Safety Systems & Risk Management: Strengthen safety management systems, conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure emergency preparedness.
• Environment & Sustainability: Monitor environmental risks, drive initiatives for resource efficiency, waste management, pollution prevention, and support sustainability objectives.
• Stakeholder & Team Management: Lead, develop, and manage the EHS team; promote safety awareness among employees, contractors, and vendors; report EHS performance to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years of overall EHS experience, with strong experience in a manufacturing plant/site environment.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in Plant EHS, Safety & Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in safety audits, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance and sustainable manufacturing practices.
• Certifications: Relevant EHS certifications will be an advantage.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, stakeholder management, and team leadership capabilities.
• Additional Skills: Hands-on, ownership-driven, and execution-oriented approach; ability to build and sustain a proactive safety-first culture.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing contractor safety and workplace safety.
• Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and waste management practices.
• Ability to influence and drive safety and environmental performance at a senior level.

Experience

• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant EHS experience.
• Proven track record managing the complete EHS function at a plant or site level within manufacturing industries.

Environment

This is a site-based role located in Nashik, Maharashtra. The work environment involves overseeing manufacturing operations, infrastructure, utilities, and facilities, with a focus on safety, compliance, and environmental management. The role requires active engagement with plant personnel, contractors, and external regulatory bodies.
