  • Partner with commercial and pricing teams to support bids, route/network optimization, capacity planning, and margin management.
  • Implement continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/6S, Kaizen) to reduce costs, shorten lead times, and improve service consistency.
  • Manage operating budgets and control P&L drivers at the account/operation level, including labor, drayage, demurrage, equipment, and third-party services.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience; relevant certifications preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in 3PL, rail/intermodal, or multimodal logistics operations with progressive leadership responsibilities; experience managing customer accounts is strongly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with rail/intermodal processes, terminal handling, and applicable regulations (FRA, HAZMAT, customs procedures).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in TMS/WMS/terminal operating systems and strong Excel/analytics skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Proven leadership and people-management capabilities; experience with remote/third-party teams and union environments is a plus.
  • Analytical, data-driven, and results-oriented; comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across commercial, operations, and carrier partners.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.
