Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer is a key role focused on implementing and managing automation, infrastructure, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. This position aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve system reliability, and foster strong communication between development, testing, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Configuration Management within the engineering team.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Chef Automate, including the development of cookbooks, compliance profiles, and automation pipelines.
• Monitor infrastructure and application health utilizing Chef Automate dashboards to ensure optimal performance.
• Execute software development and reporting by designing test plans, developing test cases, and validating automated processes.
• Collaborate closely with Agile delivery teams to understand the product vision, facilitating the creation of robust test automation for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Facilitate clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and maintain high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Chef Automate and other infrastructure automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to streamline interactions with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with backend/database programming.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to track problems and resolve them proactively.

Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in DevOps, particularly in automation and CI/CD processes.
