Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a ~INR 20 Bn AUM NBFC focused in the secured MSME space. The CEO will be responsible for taking over the reins and augmenting the existing team to providing overall direction, vision, and leadership to ensure sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and profitability. The CEO should have the necessary depth in understanding the MSME segment within the financial services domain to help anchor the growth towards a micro-LAP focused lending book. The ideal candidate should have the experience and track record of building strong teams and successful businesses in the NBFC segment, which have scaled profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with the company's long-term goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities in new markets, products, and partnerships.
  • Augment risk and product development with data and strategic insights.
• Business & Financial Management:
  • Drive top-line growth and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure effective capital allocation and financial discipline.
  • Monitor financial performance and present regular updates to the Board.
• Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
  • Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines and all applicable financial regulations.
  • Maintain effective corporate governance practices.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and financial institutions.
• Team Leadership & Organizational Culture:
  • Build and lead a high-performance executive team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and ethical conduct.
  • Promote talent development and succession planning.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, clients, and regulators.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and public events.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the financial services sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in an NBFC or banks focused on MSME lending.
• Proven track record of strategic execution, scaling operations, and delivering financial results.
• Deep understanding of lending products, risk management, and credit underwriting processes.
• Familiarity with RBI regulations and compliance frameworks for NBFCs.
• MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
