Job Summary
The Vice President – Index Operations will lead the operations, administration, and management of indices across relevant asset classes. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of index-related activities, as well as for developing new index products in response to market trends. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee end-to-end operations, administration, and maintenance of indices across relevant asset classes.
- Ensure timely and accurate index calculation, review, rebalancing, and implementation of changes according to approved methodologies.
- Monitor corporate action adjustments, constituent changes, and other events impacting index inclusion and calculations.
- Establish controls and review mechanisms to ensure accuracy and continuity of index operations.
- Develop and introduce new indices based on market requirements and business opportunities.
- Drive product strategy and identify opportunities for index-based products across various asset classes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable SEBI regulations and oversee preparation of regulatory submissions.
- Work closely with internal teams to facilitate product development and engage with market participants for feedback.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualifications: CA (Chartered Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), MBA in Finance, Economics, or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Experience: 18+ years of relevant experience in Capital Markets, Stock Exchanges, Index Management, Product Development, or Research.
- Strong understanding of index construction, calculation, maintenance, and corporate actions.
- Proven experience in developing index-based products and understanding of financial products and market structure.
- Sound understanding of SEBI regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing senior-level stakeholders and cross-functional initiatives.
- Familiarity with technology-driven solutions for enhancing operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Experience
- Minimum of 18 years of relevant professional experience focused on the capital markets, particularly within index management or product development.
