Job Summary

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for various applications, including web, API, and mobile. This position is vital for ensuring product quality and aligning with the organization’s goals of providing superior digital services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, and/or mobile applications.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable test code in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Implement tests for functional, integration, regression, and smoke scenarios.
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Collaborate with developers to write testable code and ensure adequate unit and integration test coverage.
  • Participate in requirements and design reviews to provide input from a quality perspective.
  • Investigate, debug, and triage issues, contributing to root cause analysis.
  • Ensure test environments and data are well managed and available.
  • Stay current with industry trends and tools in test automation and quality engineering.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in software testing and automation.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java & JavaScript (preferred), or C#, Python.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of testing REST APIs and UI components.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Familiarity with source control (Git), test management tools (TestRail, Xray), and issue tracking systems (JIRA).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
  • Experience in working with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of BDD frameworks like Cucumber or SpecFlow.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with additional automation tools and frameworks beyond those specifically mentioned.
  • Experience with mobile application testing automation.

Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software testing and automation.

Environment

  • Work from Office (WFO) located in Chennai/Bangalore.
  • Shift Timing: Afternoon (2 PM – 10 PM).
