Job Summary

The Manager of Software Development is responsible for leading a team of software development staff, ensuring their performance aligns with the company's operational challenges and departmental strategies. The role requires defining a clear vision and action plan, optimizing team efficiency, and delivering mobile solutions for airline customers globally.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate team performance by setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and recommending pay actions.
• Develop and communicate the technical and functional roadmap aligned with company objectives.
• Report on team activities and ensure accountability for performance and results within the unit.
• Address resource and operational challenges by developing effective plans and priorities.
• Propose improvements and innovative techniques for processes and operational models.
• Collaborate with other teams (software development, architecture, QA) to assure software systems meet standards for testability, stability, scalability, and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing teams, with a focus on software development.
• Strong understanding of mobile solutions, specifically on both Android and iOS platforms.
• Ability to navigate complex problems and suggest effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, ensuring timely updates to team members regarding organizational information.
• Relevant educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of airline industry software solutions.
• Experience with budget management and strategic planning.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years in a people management or leadership role.
