CEO for a new venture

• They are looking to spin off one of their initiatives to a social enterprise, i.e profit making entity.  Farm to Fabric concept. Venture at a nascent stage. Ops on since about 3 years (to be confirmed), but the profit angle is new.
• End to end: everything from upskilling women, designing, purchase of raw material, selling to consumers. In essence, 3 aspects:
  • Farm side: deal with farmers. To procure cotton etc
  • Designers: leheriya, patola, bandhini (traditional design) – in western format: creating something for more modern, for urban population
  • Overall Ops: Weaving and making the final product.
• Have 3 Heads for each aspect. Looking for a leader for them. A CEO to manage the entire venture.
• Have 500+ farmers
• Have designers in Surendra Nagar, and Nagpur. Weaving in Mumbai.
• Currently market is India. Maybe US and Japan expansion later.
• Ideal profile:
  • Startup environment: ideal
  • Has done a multitude of things: strategy, sales, marketing
  • Mature. Ideally: 35-40 years. But up to 45 and around 32 also works.
  • Motivated, can drive business, can give direction, lead a team.
• Location: Worli, RPG house.

• Comp: flexible but ideally: 40-50 LPA, For perfect candidate – can go up to 80 LPA.
