Job Summary

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer – I (SDE-1) who will collaborate with our senior engineers to build and scale the core systems that power Zoca. This is a high-ownership role where you will write production code from day one, solve real customer problems, and learn how to build at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and ship features across our stack with mentorship from senior engineers.
• Work on scalable backend systems, APIs, and services that power AI-driven workflows.
• Debug, optimize, and ensure the reliability of existing code.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to deliver delightful experiences.
• Contribute ideas on how we can improve product, process, and technology.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in software engineering (internship or full-time).
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, etc.).
• Understanding of web technologies, APIs, and databases.
• Curiosity to learn new frameworks, tools, and systems quickly.
• Ability to think through edge cases and write robust code.
• Hunger to build things that impact real users.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to backend frameworks (Node.js, Django, Flask, or similar).
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Previous internship/project experience in startups or fast-paced environments.

Experience

• 0–2 years of relevant experience in software engineering, either through internships or full-time positions.

• Work location will be in Bangalore in an in-office setting.
