SAP MM Consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM Consultant to lead the implementation and optimization of the SAP Materials Management (MM) module within our organization. The consultant will play a crucial role in analyzing, designing, and configuring MM processes across multiple SAP systems, ensuring a smooth transition and integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the fit-gap analysis of MM processes and configuration between multiple SAP systems.
• Design the to-be state for MM processes, including Procure-to-Pay and Inventory Management.
• Configure the SAP MM module in System A to meet merged business requirements covering organization structure, master data settings, purchasing, inventory management, and invoice verification.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data migration strategy for all MM objects, focusing on data extraction, cleansing, transformation, mapping, and loading.
• Create and manage detailed cutover plans for the MM module to ensure seamless transitions with minimal disruption.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test scripts for unit, integration (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data owners, and cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales and Distribution, Production Planning, Warehouse Management/Extended Warehouse Management) to ensure seamless integration.
• Provide post-go-live support and troubleshoot issues to ensure the stabilization of the new MM processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an SAP MM Consultant or in a relevant role.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major SAP system merger or large-scale data migration project.
• Deep understanding of the data migration lifecycle, including analysis, mapping, mock-loads/testing, and cutover execution.
• Strong configuration experience in migrating core MM objects such as:
  • Master Data: Material Master, Vendor Master, Purchase Info Records.
  • Organization Structure: Plants, Storage Locations, Purchasing Organizations/Groups.
  • Purchasing: Document Types, Number Ranges, Release Strategies.
  • Inventory Management: Goods Movements, Physical Inventory.
  • Logistics Invoice Verification: Tolerances and Automatic Postings.

Preferred Skills

• Thorough understanding of MM integration points with other modules, particularly:
  • Finance and Controlling: Automatic Account Determination, Material Valuation.
  • Sales and Distribution: Stock Transport Orders, Availability Check.
  • Production Planning: MRP, BOMs, Production Order Goods Movements.
  • Warehouse Management: How Inventory Management integrates with warehouse-managed locations.
• Ability to conduct workshops, perform fit-gap analysis, and map "as-is" versus "to-be" business processes.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex configuration and data issues.
• Experience with processes such as Subcontracting, Consignment, Inter-Company Stock Transport Orders.
• Familiarity with SAP Workflow for release strategies.
