About Jio BlackRock: In July 2023, BlackRock and Jio Financial Services Limited (JFS) announced an agreement to form Jio BlackRock, a 50:50 joint venture that combines the respective strengths and trusted brands of BlackRock and JFS to deliver tech-enabled access to affordable, innovative investment solutions for millions of investors in India.
The ambition is to become market leader in asset management by 2030. According to estimates from the Association of Mutual Funds in India, assets under management of Indian mutual funds doubled to INR 44.39 trillion (USD 542 billion) in the five years to June 2023.
Jio BlackRock brings BlackRock’s deep expertise and talent in investment management, risk management, product excellence, access to technology, operations, scale, and intellectual capital around markets, while JFS contributes local market knowledge, customer reach, digital infrastructure capabilities and robust execution capabilities.
Together, the partnership will introduce a new player to the India market with a unique combination of scope, scale, and resources. JFS and BlackRock are targeting initial investment of US$150 million each in the joint venture.The joint venture will have its own management team and will launch operations post all regulatory and statutory approvals.
About this role:
You will be responsible for building the brand JioBlackRock. We are looking for someone who can build the strategy, and then also roll up their sleeves and play a crucial role in bringing the brand vision to life through a campaign roadmap that is aligned with vision and strategy.
Key responsibilities:
- Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Shape and evolve the brand’s identity, tone of voice, and messaging across segments
- Drive brand architecture across multiple business verticals creating a single brand
- Lead consumer insight initiatives to sharpen brand relevance
- Integrated Campaign Execution
- Lead 360° campaigns across digital, ATL, BTL, and on-ground activations
- Manage media planning, campaign asset creation, and production across multiple partners
- Ensure consistency and excellence in brand delivery across all touchpoints
- Digital-First Brand Building
- Collaborate with performance and product teams to integrate brand into the user journey
- Champion digital storytelling through brand integration into content, social etc
- Measurement & Optimization
- Define key brand KPIs and track brand health and campaign effectiveness
- Leverage data and analytics to refine messaging and improve impact
- Partner with research teams for pre/post campaign studies and brand lift reports
- Cross-functional Leadership
- Work closely with design, content, product, legal, and agency teams
- Manage creative, media, PR, and production partners with accountability for timelines and budgets
- Act as a brand custodian in internal and external forums
Indicative KPI’s of the role:
- Timely creation and delivery of launch campaigns and GTM strategy to launch the brand in the market
- Creation of messages that break the clutter, and set out the brand distinctly in the market
- Increase in brand awareness and market share, delivering year 1 business objectives
- Efficient allocation of media budgets to deliver the goals in a cost effective manner
Key skills and experiences:
- Strategic brand thinking with deep execution ownership. Demonstrable delivery in early stage digital brand launches preferred
- Strong creative sensibility and storytelling ability
- Digital first brand marketing experience preferred.
- Comfort with data, martech, and agile content critical. Hands-on experience with AI tools for creative generation such as Canva, MidJourney, Sora etc preferred
- Self-starter with high accountability and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills to align diverse stakeholders
- MBA in Marketing, Communications, or related field. Top B-Schools, MICA preferred.
- 10+ years of brand/marketing experience, ideally in Fintech, FMCG, or Digital-first companies
- Prior experience in building brands from scratch or during high-growth phases
