Engineer - Digital Manufacturing

Job Summary

As an Engineer - Digital Manufacturing, you will ideate, develop, and deploy customized Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, SQL databases, and API integrations to MES and other systems. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams including Automation, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and SAP to gather requirements and implement new features. Your role will be critical in the implementation and sign-off of MES and digital solutions in battery and vehicle assembly lines, ensuring smooth production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy customized MES, SCADA, SQL database solutions, and API integrations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Automation, Quality, Production, Maintenance, SAP) to gather and clarify requirements for new features.
  • Implement and validate MES and digital manufacturing solutions on battery and vehicle assembly lines.
  • Test and deploy applications on the production shop floor, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
  • Coordinate with teams to ensure seamless integration of PLCs and other industrial protocols.
  • Maintain and improve existing digital manufacturing systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, or related engineering fields.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Iconics/Ignition SCADA, Kepware, and SQL databases.
  • Proficient in SCADA platforms such as Ignition or Genesis.
  • Experience with Kepware data logger and industrial communication protocols including Profinet, EtherCAT, CC-Link, MQTT, and OPC UA.
  • Strong skills in PLC integration and programming.
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript programming languages.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL database management and development.
  • Excellent multitasking and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC programming.
  • Experience in end-to-end MES and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) implementation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and improve application response times on production floors.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in digital manufacturing systems, SCADA, MES, and industrial automation.

Environment

  • Work location: Bangalore.
  • Work mode: Hybrid (combination of remote and on-site work).
  • Full-time position in a manufacturing and assembly line environment focused on battery and vehicle production.

Salary

  • Annual salary: ₹1,450,000 INR.
