Job Summary
The Costing and Budgeting Manager will oversee the financial and operational budgeting processes for projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation, effective budget monitoring, and collaboration with various departments. This role is crucial for minimizing costs and enhancing project efficiency, contributing directly to the company’s success.
Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Calculate quantities based on received drawings, analyze and coordinate with architects and consultants, and conduct timely rate analysis for residential and commercial projects.
- Budget Monitoring: Develop budgets for projects at various life stages and submit timely reports, ensuring effective cost monitoring comparing budget vs. actual rates.
- Cost Leadership: Generate innovative ideas to minimize costs for each project, focusing on cost reduction percentage.
- Project Review Meetings: Coordinate and conduct weekly review meetings with site resources to update various departments on project status.
- Process Adherence: Comply with company-defined guidelines and project timelines, ensuring process compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements in procedures to streamline efficiency, cost, and productivity in the work area.
- Learning and Development: Manage and develop a team of at least 8-10 members, identifying and addressing development needs for self and team members through training and projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 12 years in leading costing, budgeting, or tendering.
- Critical Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- High quantitative aptitude.
- Awareness of new technologies in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of SAP, MS Project, ACONEX, AUTOCAD, and MS Excel is an added advantage.
- Understanding of design principles and construction practices, including quality and safety norms.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with advanced construction technologies and project management tools is a plus.
Experience
15 years of overall experience with a minimum of 12 years in a leading role focusing on costing and budgeting or tendering.
