Job Summary
The Deputy Manager – Vendor Development & Purchase is responsible for managing vendor development, sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and vendor performance for both existing and new product requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a reliable supply chain, optimizing costs, and maintaining high-quality standards to support the company's manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and onboard vendors for products, components, and sub-assemblies.
- Conduct vendor visits to assess technical capability, quality standards, financial stability, and delivery performance.
- Develop sourcing strategies and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics.
- Identify potential vendor risks and implement measures to ensure supply continuity.
- Manage vendor agreements, including renewals and performance reviews.
- Coordinate with Finance and vendors regarding invoice processing and payments.
- Collaborate closely with Purchase, Quality, Engineering, Production, and other internal teams.
- Provide regular updates on vendor performance and risk assessments to senior management.
- Travel a minimum of 10 days per month for vendor visits and development activities.
Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Experience: 5–8 years in Vendor Development, Purchase, or Procurement within manufacturing, engineering, or automotive sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of engineering components and manufacturing processes.
- Vendor Management: Proven experience in vendor sourcing, evaluation, and negotiations.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess vendor capabilities and risks effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with vendors in Gujarat and Punjab is advantageous.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel extensively for vendor development activities.

- Experience working with international vendors and global supply chains.
- Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems.
