Position Title: Financial Controller

Location: Mumbai

Infina Finance Private Limited (IFPL) is a non-deposit accepting, Systemically Important Non-Banking Financial Company registered with the Reserve Bank of India. It is jointly owned by Kotak Mahindra Bank through its subsidiary and Kotak family.

 

We are into lending business offering Loan against Securities, Loan against Property and Corporate Real Estate.

 

Overview

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the organization, with a specific focus on compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (IND AS) and RBI regulations governing NBFCs. This role involves financial planning, analysis, reporting, and ensuring the integrity of financial data to support informed decision-making and drive the company’s growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy and Leadership
    • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and growth plans.
    • Provide leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Ownership of financial statements, including compliance with RBI disclosure requirements
    • Maintain close collaboration with the Treasury, Risk and Operations teams to ensure a seamless flow of information

 

  • IND AS Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (IND AS) and other relevant regulations applicable to NBFCs
    • Ensure ongoing adherence to IND AS in all financial reporting processes

 

  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
    • Conduct variance analysis and monitor financial performance against targets, providing actionable insights.
    • Assessing competitor performance in comparison to ours and offering insights on key metrics

 

  • Financial Reporting
    • Review and present Quarterly financial reports, including Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements to senior management.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with regulatory deadlines.
    • Independently manage the audit of financial statements
    • Review Direct & Indirect Tax workings and ensure compliances
    • Financial reporting under both Indian GAAP and IND AS

 

  • Team Development
    • Mentor and develop the finance team, enhancing their skills and capabilities to meet organizational goals.
    • Promote a collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth.

 

  • Risk Management
    • Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, safeguarding the organization’s assets.
    • Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to strengthen financial controls and governance.

 

  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and financial institutions.
    • Act as a key liaison for financial matters during board meetings and with investors.

 

  1. Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance, with substantial exposure to IND AS and working within an NBFC environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, risk management principles, and best practices in financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead finance teams and manage complex financial operations.
