Business Development Lead – Private Label & Contract Manufacturing

Job Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Lead – Private Label & Contract Manufacturing to drive new client acquisition for Clean Beauty Private Limited. This role will focus on identifying potential clients, initiating conversations, understanding requirements, pitching Clean Beauty’s capabilities, and converting qualified leads into active business opportunities. The person will own the journey from lead generation to commercial conversion, after which the execution and account coordination will be handed over to the Key Account Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and build a strong pipeline of potential clients across various sectors, including skincare, hair care, body care, hygiene, and personal care brands, as well as emerging D2C brands, salons, spas, hotels, and more.
- Outreach & Client Acquisition: Conduct outbound outreach through LinkedIn, email, WhatsApp, calls, and other relevant channels to introduce Clean Beauty’s capabilities and set up meetings and introductory calls with qualified prospects.
- Requirement Understanding & Lead Qualification: Understand client requirements covering product categories, formulation, pricing, packaging, timelines, and compliance needs to effectively qualify leads.
- Pitching & Commercial Discussions: Present Clean Beauty’s manufacturing strengths and capabilities to potential clients, share relevant documentation, and support early-stage commercial conversations.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Maintain a structured CRM or Excel tracker for all leads and prepare weekly reports on outreach activity and conversions.
- Cross-Functional Coordination & Handover: Coordinate with internal teams to assess client feasibility and ensure a smooth handover to the Key Account Manager, sharing all relevant client details.
- Market Research & Opportunity Mapping: Track new brands, product trends, and competitor manufacturers while identifying high-potential categories and markets for Clean Beauty.
Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, client acquisition, or manufacturing-related sales.
- Prior experience in beauty, personal care, FMCG, packaging, ingredients, or contract manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable with outbound sales and relationship building.
- Ability to engage confidently with founders, brand owners, and procurement teams.
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, CRM tools, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to manage multiple leads and conversations systematically.
- Interest in skincare, personal care, clean beauty, manufacturing, or consumer brands.
- Based in or willing to work from Bangalore.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in personal care or cosmetics contract manufacturing.
- Background in FMCG or beauty sales.
- Knowledge in packaging sales or ingredient/raw material sales.
- Familiarity with B2B corporate sales, hospitality, or institutional sales.
- Experience in D2C brand partnerships and export or private-label business development.
Experience
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in business development or sales, specifically within related industries.
