Job Summary

The IBM MQ Infra Admin is responsible for the administration and support of IBM MQ environments. This role ensures the stability, performance, and reliability of messaging systems, contributing to the organization's goals through efficient messaging architecture and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Administer IBM MQ environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Monitor and tune MQ performance to ensure optimal operations.
• Automate processes and scripts using languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
• Manage containerized MQ deployments in environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Analyze MQ logs and dumps to troubleshoot issues and implement fixes.
• Collaborate in a DevOps environment and support CI/CD pipelines where applicable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ, including versions 8 and above.
• Strong background in MQ architecture, administration, clustering, and tuning.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud-based MQ deployments (AWS MQ, Azure, IBM Cloud).
• Solid understanding of messaging concepts such as JMS, topics/queues, and pub/sub.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in analyzing MQ logs and dumps.
• Working knowledge of SSL certificates, keystores, and secure messaging protocols.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• IBM Certified MQ Administrator or MQ Developer certifications.
• Experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or App Connect.
• Exposure to Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
• Knowledge of ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.

Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with IBM MQ and messaging architecture.
