• • Source new suppliers and technologies to support new product development and engineering needs.
  • Conduct technical assessments of suppliers' capabilities, capacity, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design engineering to select components and materials that meet required specifications and are aligned with market technology
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and industry dynamics to inform sourcing decisions and stay ahead of market changes
  • Provide suppliers with technical specifications and requirements and ensure their understanding.
  • Continuously update internal teams with the latest market and technology information from the supply base.
  • Use technical skills and knowledge to investigate and propose alternate component technologies for cost reduction or improved availability.
  • Analyze supplier quotes and cost breakdowns to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Conduct factory visits and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying and developing alternative supply chains and sourcing solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and develop new partnerships as needed.
  • Establish and track supplier performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and business reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage supplier qualification, selection, and development processes.
  • Lead complex negotiations for pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service.
  • Utilize cost breakdown and "should cost" analysis to drive competitive pricing.
  • Proactively identify potential risks in the supply chain (e.g., geopolitical, financial, single-source dependencies) and develop contingency plans.
  • Act as the supply chain liaison for new product introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring early supplier involvement and alignment with project milestones.

• Skills:
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (verbal and written).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies (e.g., PCBA, plastic injection molding, , metal stamping).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost breakdown and component costing.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electronics,) or a related technical field.
• Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, purchasing, with a strong technical background in a specific commodity (e.g., electronics, plastics, metal parts).
