Responsibilities

  • Design and implement dimensional, star, and snowflake schemas tailored for reporting and analytics use cases.
  • Translate business requirements into canonical Gold-layer datasets with standardized definitions.
  • Ensure scalability, performance optimization, and query efficiency in data models.
  • Define and enforce data modeling best practices, including naming conventions, metadata management, lineage, and governance.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, BI developers, and Product Owners to ensure KPI alignment and usability of datasets.
  • Develop enterprise-wide data products to enable self-service analytics and consistent reporting.
  • Apply data quality, partitioning, and optimization strategies in Databricks/Delta Lake environments.
  • Maintain documentation, data dictionaries, and model diagrams for stakeholder consumption.
  • Mentor junior data engineers/modelers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Data Modeling, preferably within Retail, Stock, or Master Data domains.
  • Proficiency in Data Vault 2.0, Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema, Kimball and Inmon methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL for model development, optimization, and validation.
  • Practical experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and cloud-native data architectures.
  • Experience designing enterprise data warehouses, marts, and Gold-layer datasets.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, and their integration with modeled datasets.
  • Proven ability to create enterprise data products that enable analytics at scale.
  • Educational qualification: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (not explicitly specified).
