Job Summary

The Senior Manager SCM is responsible for overseeing end-to-end Supply Chain Management within the organization, focusing on areas such as Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Inventory Management, Logistics & Transportation, Supplier Relationship Management, Capacity Planning, Cost Management, and Supply Chain Risk Management. The role involves managing the supply chain for Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical components, Capital Equipment, Consumables, and Contract Manufacturing of PCBA, ensuring seamless material availability, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience. The incumbent will collaborate closely with global and local suppliers, EMS partners, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to meet production and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Cost Management: Drive continuous cost reduction and avoidance across procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier operations.
• Supplier Risk Management: Identify potential disruptions proactively; maintain risk assessments, mitigation plans, and develop alternate sourcing strategies.
• Capacity Planning: Evaluate supplier and EMS capacity against current and future requirements; address constraints and secure capacity for critical components and ramp-ups.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Manage strategic relationships, monitor supplier performance, implement corrective actions, and foster supplier development in terms of cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Logistics & Transportation: Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, shipment scheduling, freight movement, documentation, and cost optimization.
• Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels, monitor excess or obsolete stock, improve inventory turnover, and ensure accuracy.
• Procurement: Manage sourcing and procurement of electrical, electronic, mechanical components, capital equipment, and consumables; lead supplier selection, negotiations, and cost optimization.
• Supply Chain Planning: Own and align supply chain planning with production needs, demand forecasts, BOM, and business priorities; proactively address shortages and recovery actions.
• Electronic Component Import Management: Oversee end-to-end import lifecycle for electronic components, track global availability, coordinate with suppliers, manage open purchase orders, and conduct supplier reviews.
• Import Logistics & Customs Compliance: Coordinate shipments, ensure accurate documentation, manage customs clearance, and optimize landed costs.
• Local Subcontract / EMS Management: Manage contract manufacturing of PCBA, monitor build schedules, coordinate BOM revisions, and qualify new EMS partners.
• Cross-functional & Reporting: Maintain supply chain data in ERP (SAP), generate reports, participate in S&OP meetings, and communicate risks and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; MBA (Supply Chain/Operations) preferred.
• Experience: 12-14 years in import sourcing, logistics, or EMS management (automotive/electronics preferred); 14-16 years with demonstrated ownership of import programs and EMS management, especially in EV/ADAS components.
• Technical Skills:
  • E-component sourcing, familiarity with semiconductor supply chain, distributors (Arrow, Avnet, Future, Mouser), and OEM procurement.
  • Understanding of EMS/PCB assembly processes, BOM, MPN management, SMT, THT, AOI, ICT, functional testing.
  • Knowledge of APQP/PPAP, IATF 16949 standards, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, control plans.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent), Excel/Google Sheets, pivot tables, IMPORTRANGE, XLOOKUP.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management.
  • Analytical mindset with multitasking ability.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, cross-cultural communication.
  • Problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with EV electronic component sourcing.
• Exposure to free trade agreements.
• Knowledge of component obsolescence management, last-time-buy planning, and form-fit-function alternatives.

Experience

• 12-14 years of relevant experience in import sourcing, logistics, or EMS management.
• 14-16 years with proven ownership of import programs and EMS partnerships, especially in EV/ADAS components.

Environment

• Work Setting: Full-time, on-site at Bangalore, Karnataka.
• Working Hours: General shift (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM IST) with flexibility for overseas coordination.
• Travel: Occasional travel within India; international travel for supplier audits.
• Tools & Systems: SAP/ERP, Google Workspace, MS Office, customs portals, freight tracking portals.
• Physical Conditions: Office environment with occasional site visits.
