    • Define UX acceptance criteria and conduct structured usability testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Collaboration with Data & Engineering

    • Work alongside Data Engineering on dataset readiness and with engineers on release cycles.
    • Provide clear specifications for measures and calculations; contribute light DAX as needed to validate design choices.
  • Client Reviews, Enablement & Adoption

    • Lead design reviews and demos, iterating quickly based on feedback while upholding UX standards.
    • Create and publish user guides, in-app help overlays, and short walkthrough videos to enhance adoption and usage.
  • Documentation & Governance

    • Maintain living design documentation including style guides, component catalogs, and decision logs.
    • Advocate for consistency across the analytics portfolio by managing versioning and change notes.

Qualifications

  • Must-Have Experience & Skills:
    • 5–8+ years designing BI/analytics experiences, with 3+ years focused specifically on Power BI, backed by a strong portfolio.
    • Expertise in information design and data storytelling; fluency in Figma, particularly in components and prototyping.
    • Proven ability to design pixel-perfect Power BI dashboards, including advanced features such as themes and drill-throughs.
    • Working knowledge of data modeling (star schemas) and DAX to specify or create common measures.
    • Strong understanding of accessibility and usability principles, with the ability to balance aesthetics with user clarity.
    • Excellent client-facing communication skills, capable of facilitating workshops and aligning stakeholders around design decisions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric/OneLake, Deneb (Vega-Lite), or custom visuals for analytics, as well as mobile-optimized layouts.
  • Familiarity with performance analysis tools (Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio) and maintaining metadata hygiene (Tabular Editor).
  • Background in enterprise branding and developing reusable Power BI template designs.

Experience

5-8 years of relevant experience in designing BI/analytics dashboards, including direct experience with Power BI.
