Mainframe Networks System Programmer

Job Summary

The Mainframe Networks System Programmer is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of various networking products on mainframe systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the stability and efficiency of network operations, contributing to the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain VTAM, TCPIP, OSA, and related products on mainframe systems.
  • Utilize SMPE for effective software management and maintenance.
  • Configure and manage printers, FTP, SMTP, and SNMP settings.
  • Interface with operations and manage network management software, including NetView and Network Performance Management (NPM).
  • Oversee file transfer software operations, including TCP/IP FTP, Netview FTP, and Connect:Direct.
  • Manage session management software, including CA-TPX, CA-Solve Access, and Candle SuperSession.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years in mainframe networking and system programming.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in VTAM, TCPIP, and OSA.
    • Strong knowledge of SMPE.
    • Expertise in networking concepts and configurations.
    • Skills in printer configuration and management.
    • Familiarity with FTP, SMTP, and SNMP protocols.
  • Educational Qualifications: Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with additional network management and session management software.
  • Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques in mainframe environments.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in mainframe systems and networking.

Salary

  • Estimated salary range: ₹3,500,000
