Job Summary

The Playwright Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing automation test scripts, ensuring the quality and performance of software applications. This role contributes to improving software reliability and reducing manual testing efforts, aligning with the organization’s quality assurance goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using the Playwright framework.
  • Execute and validate automated tests for software applications to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify testing requirements and improve the testing process.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Conduct API testing and database testing using SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL, and ensure integration testing is performed effectively.
  • Report and track defects and issues using tools such as JIRA, ensuring timely resolution and communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation.
  • Strong proficiency in the Playwright framework.
  • Solid experience in programming languages such as JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in API testing, database testing (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), and integration testing.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools.
  • Experience in a hybrid work environment.

Experience

  • 4 to 6 years in software testing with considerable experience focused on automation.

Environment

  • Hybrid work setting, with 3-4 days from the HCL Tech Jigani office in Bangalore.
