Director of Engineering Job Description: Director of Engineering Our Story Zepto is a fast-growing startup that delivers groceries in 10 minutes through an optimised network of dark stores that we're building across the country! Primary Responsibilities Be the top engineering leader for the supply chain vertical. Responsible for the technology roadmap and influencing business processes and operations via technology solutions. You will be working closely with engineering managers and architects to envision and execute the technology strategy for Zepto. ● Lead the engineering vertical of 50-100 members ● Deep understanding of technology and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup ● Mentor engineers, engineering managers and architects ● Drive product innovation, technology roadmap and provide long-term vision to teams. ● Author system-level high level design documents for cross-functional microservices. ● Improve and/or re-architect and/or write new algorithms for functional performance. ● Innovate and dig out patentable solutions to product/technical requirements. ● Incorporate proper certification/compliance requirements into the product designs. ● Be a focal point of technology for product, engineering and teams that are critical to product. ● Participate in strategic planning and expansion of the support and observability strategy. What Are We Looking For? ● Experience with a product/ B2C tech mandatory; experience in E-Commerce domain preferable ● B.E/B.Tech or any other similar qualification with experience as a tech leader and for at least 8+ years ● Strong knowledge of distributed systems. ● Experience working with high-performance technical teams and ability to create a culture based on those best practices. ● Excellent people manager. Strong in building relationships and collaboration with others. Experienced in managing engineering leaders as a part of own team. ● Experience with major architecture patterns. ● Well-versed with performance & scalability. ● Skilled at thorough REST API designs. ● Experience with new open-source technologies and their adoption into product
