Job Summary

The Head of Operations/Production/Manufacturing/Factory Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the entire manufacturing process and ensuring that production goals align with the company's strategic objectives. This position is responsible for optimizing plant performance, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate among various functions to ensure consistent achievement of plant performance parameters.
  • Ensure all activities in the plant comply with company policies and practices.
  • Implement Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant laws and corporate governance principles.
  • Initiate corrective actions and preventive actions (CAPA) in response to any failures in quality management systems.
  • Implement findings from statutory, commercial, quality, and EHS audits.
  • Enhance safety culture, delivery, cost efficiency, and productivity within the plant.
  • Develop and train plant personnel in coordination with Human Resources to improve employee competency.
  • Lead and execute cross-plant initiatives through Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs).
  • Oversee the upgrade of equipment and machinery, securing necessary capital expense approvals.
  • Conduct periodic manpower reviews and initiate right-sizing actions as needed.
  • Build high-performance teams and develop career paths for key employees in collaboration with Corporate HR.
  • Integrate cutting-edge manufacturing technologies from various sources.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the industrial sales team and OEM customers.
  • Collaborate with third-party manufacturers to enhance cost and supply efficiencies, while providing technical and managerial guidance.
  • Maintain open communication with unions and staff to foster a positive workplace culture and negotiate productivity agreements in coordination with HR.
  • Engage with local government administration for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and maintain implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Participate in Management Review Meetings (MRM) and present relevant data to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 20-25 years of experience in automotive or auto components manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and performance metrics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Proven ability in managing quality management systems.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative manufacturing strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of information security management systems.
  • Familiarity with the latest manufacturing technologies and automation practices.
