Manager - Engineering

Job Summary

The Manager - Engineering will lead, mentor, and manage a team of C++ Software Developers, Quality Assurance (QA) professionals, and Business Analysts. This role is crucial in fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture, ensuring accountability for performance and results, and aligning development efforts with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of C++ Software Developers, QAs, and Business Analysts, setting performance objectives and conducting performance reviews.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Define a vision for the team in line with departmental strategy and operational challenges, translating it into a concrete action plan.
• Implement and promote Agile methodologies within the team, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and align development efforts with business goals.
• Provide technical direction and support to the development team, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment are followed.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software by implementing robust testing and code review processes.
• Encourage continuous learning and improvement within the team, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ with database experience in a distributed environment.
• Good to have knowledge of Cloud technologies and exposure to other tech stacks like Java and Python.
• Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers and other cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
