Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Operations & Finance will partner with the CEO and senior leadership to define the organization’s strategic vision, business plans, and long-term growth objectives. The role involves leading overall operations, ensuring operational excellence, financial discipline, and driving process automation and technology initiatives. The COO will build and lead high-performing teams across Operations, Finance, and support functions, contributing significantly to organizational scalability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless coordination across business and support functions.
- Lead business planning, budgeting, and profitability management, including reviewing actual performance against budgets and implementing corrective actions.
- Supervise the Finance & Accounts function, including accounting, Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, cash flow management, financial reporting, payments, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Drive Management Information System (MIS), business analytics, and management reporting for senior management and the Board.
- Oversee key Mutual Fund operations and coordinate with Registrar and Transfer Agents (RTA), custodians, bankers, and other service providers.
- Ensure compliance with SEBI regulations, Mutual Fund requirements, and internal policies, in collaboration with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams.
- Establish and strengthen internal financial controls, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and processes.
- Lead risk management, process standardization, automation, and digital/technology initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, bankers, and key stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of observations and escalations.
- Participate in management and functional committees, supporting strategic initiatives, new product launches, and organizational growth.
- Lead recruitment, development, and performance management of key resources.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in financial services or BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector, with significant senior leadership roles.
- Strong experience in Operations leadership with oversight of Finance & Accounts.
- Proven expertise in business planning, budgeting, P&L management, profitability, financial controls, risk management, and governance.
- Extensive exposure to Mutual Fund operations, SEBI regulations, process transformation, and automation.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
