Head of Marketplaces
As the Ecommerce Head for Marketplace Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operations of our ecommerce marketplace platform in India. You will play a critical role in driving growth, optimizing performance, and ensuring a superior customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth, increase market share, and achieve revenue targets for the ecommerce marketplace.
- Category Management: Drive category growth by identifying trends, optimizing product assortment, and executing strategic initiatives to enhance category performance and relevance.
- Key Account Management: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key sellers/vendors to drive mutual growth, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee operational workflows, including order management, inventory planning, fulfillment, and logistics, to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Performance Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the marketplace operation.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and merchandising initiatives to drive traffic, conversion, and retention.
- Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing team of ecommerce professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive individual and collective success.
Preferred experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in ecommerce operations, marketplace management, or related roles, preferably within the Indian market.
- Managing and scaling marketplace business for a D2C brand shall score brownie points
- Strong understanding of ecommerce technologies, platforms, and industry trends.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results under pressure.
