Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Application Packaging Engineer with hands-on experience in packaging, testing, and deploying applications for both Windows and macOS platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless software delivery across enterprise environments, maintaining compatibility, and adhering to security and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Package and repackage software applications for Windows (MSI, EXE, App-V, IntuneWin) and macOS (PKG, DMG, MDM-compatible formats).
- Test and validate application packages in controlled environments before deployment.
- Deploy applications using enterprise tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, Jamf Pro, or equivalent.
- Troubleshoot packaging and deployment issues across platforms.
- Maintain documentation for packaging standards, procedures, and version control.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and desktop engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient software delivery.
- Automate packaging and deployment processes where possible using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.).
- Stay updated on OS updates and compatibility issues affecting application packaging.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in application packaging for Windows and macOS.
- Proficiency with tools like Intune, SCCM, Jamf Pro, or equivalent.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell for Windows, Bash for macOS).
- Familiarity with enterprise deployment and patch management tools.
- Understanding of software licensing, digital signatures, and code signing.
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
- Jamf Certified Tech or Admin.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in application packaging for both Windows and macOS platforms.
