ob Title: Plant Head – 2 Requirements Location: Pune - Chakan & Delhi - Kapashera Reports To: Managing Director & CEO Experience: 15+ Years Budget: 20-22 LPA (for both locations)   Job Summary: The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the EV battery manufacturing plant, with a particular focus on the production of Lithium-Ion batteries. This includes leading the setup and commissioning of the plant, managing production planning, labour and stock management, ensuring facility maintenance, and the overall administration of the plant's operations. The Plant Head will ensure that the plant operates efficiently, meets quality standards, and adheres to all safety and environmental regulations.   Key Responsibilities:   Plant Setup and Commissioning: Lead the setup and commissioning of the EV battery manufacturing plant, ensuring all systems, machinery, and equipment are properly installed and operational. Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure that the plant setup aligns with design specifications and production requirements. Oversee the testing and calibration of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth initial production runs. Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants for the installation of specialized equipment used in Lithium-Ion battery manufacturing.   Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans to meet plant output targets and deadlines while maintaining high product quality. Optimize production processes, reduce downtime, and streamline workflows to increase efficiency and meet customer delivery timelines.   Labour Planning and Workforce Management: Plan and manage labour requirements for all production shifts, ensuring that sufficient and qualified staff is available to meet production demands. Monitor and control labor costs by optimizing workforce allocation while ensuring compliance with labor laws and union regulations (if applicable).   Stock Planning and Inventory Management: Oversee inventory management for critical raw materials required for Lithium-Ion battery production, including Lithium, BMS, Cells Enclosures and other components. Develop and implement stock planning strategies to avoid stockouts and reduce excess inventory, balancing supply and demand efficiently. Monitor and manage supply chain operations to ensure timely procurement of materials and prevent disruptions in production.   Facility Maintenance and Operations: Ensure the ongoing maintenance and smooth operation of all machinery, equipment, and plant facilities. Establish a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime, improve equipment lifespan, and ensure consistent production output. Lead efforts to maintain facility cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in compliance with local environmental and safety regulations.   Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all EV batteries produced meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Implement quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process, from raw material inspection to final product testing. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations concerning the production and disposal of Lithium-Ion batteries. Conduct regular audits of plant operations, maintenance processes, and safety protocols.   Administration and Reporting: Manage the day-to-day administrative operations of the plant, including budgeting, resource allocation, and staff management. Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, operational efficiency, cost analysis, and plant safety to the MD. Ensure effective documentation for all plant operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance processes.   Safety and Environmental Management: Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols. Conduct regular safety drills and training to minimize risks related to battery manufacturing, handling of hazardous materials, and other safety concerns.   Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 15+ years of experience in plant management or operations preferably in the Lithium-Ion battery manufacturing or EV industry. Extensive experience in plant setup, commissioning of machinery and equipment, and production planning in a manufacturing environment. In-depth understanding of safety and regulatory compliance for battery manufacturing and environmental management.
