Job Summary

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer who will play a critical role in supporting the migration initiative from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This position involves assessing the existing AWS landscape, identifying underutilized services, formulating backup plans, and determining feasible applications for migration to GCP. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consulting assessments with extensive experience in both AWS and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments of existing AWS environments to identify underutilized services and applications.
• Develop a comprehensive plan for backing up and sunsetting services that are no longer needed.
• Identify applications and services suitable for migration to GCP.
• Assist in discovery and assessment of AWS environments to inform migration strategies.
• Support migration planning and roadmap execution.
• Provision resources in GCP and automate migration workflows.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and cost optimization of workloads in the cloud.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in cloud technologies, particularly AWS and GCP.
• Strong expertise in consulting assessments related to cloud migrations.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
• Proven track record in executing migration projects from AWS to GCP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and optimize cloud environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud cost management and optimization strategies.
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.

Experience

• A minimum of 15 years in cloud architecture, particularly focusing on AWS and GCP environments.
• Extensive experience in cloud migration projects and assessments.

Environment
