Mainframe DB2 DBA
Job Summary
The Mainframe DB2 DBA will serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical support in the planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to CICS and related ISV products. This role is critical in ensuring the stability and performance of mainframe systems, contributing to the organization's overall efficiency and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical support for the planning, coordination, installation, implementation, and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to CICS and related ISV products.
- Upgrade, install, and migrate CICS Transaction servers as needed.
- Support and upgrade IBM and ISV-related products, including Compuware Abend/Aid, ASG TMON/CICS, Omegamon for CICS, BMC Mainview, Xpediter/CICS, CA ACF2/CICS, CA Intertest, and CA Symdump.
- Serve as the primary on-call support for CICS and associated ISV products.
- Diagnose CICS system and related product issues, performing root cause analysis as necessary.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge in Disaster Recovery processes.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and procedures.
- Ability to perform diagnostics and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and technical skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
- Educational qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CICS functionality and architecture.
- Familiarity with additional ISV products and tools related to mainframe environments.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mainframe database administration, specifically with DB2 and CICS.
Environment
- This position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work. The role may require on-call support, necessitating flexibility in work hours.
Salary
- Estimated salary range: 3,500,000 (currency not specified).
