Job Title: Head of Shareholder Reporting

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Summary:

The Head of Shareholder Reporting is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports and metrics pertinent to shareholders. This leadership role involves analyzing financial performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of embedded value (EV), value of new business (VNB), and other key financial metrics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Experience Analysis: Conduct detailed experience studies on persistency, mortality, expenses, and other actuarial assumptions to inform financial projections and assumption setting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all reporting adheres to regulatory requirements, including the preparation of reports for the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and other governing bodies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal departments such as Finance, Corporate Planning, and Actuarial teams to align on financial metrics and provide clear reporting to shareholders and joint venture partners.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of actuarial and financial professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years in the actuarial field within the life insurance industry, with significant exposure to shareholder reporting and financial analysis.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field; completion of at least 8 actuarial papers is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet) and strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of IRDAI regulations and reporting requirements specific to the Indian life insurance sector.
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders.
