Data Architect

Job Summary

The Data Architect plays a pivotal role in executing the vision of the organization by managing foundational data work and establishing leadership within the data department. This role combines hands-on responsibilities with governance and leadership tasks, effectively bridging technical expertise with strategic oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end data platforms while managing foundational tasks related to data collection.
• Lead and mentor data teams, ensuring Agile or Scrum methodologies are effectively utilized.
• Establish and enforce data quality, governance, and security principles in practical applications.
• Engage with business stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and manage data projects.
• Communicate with senior leadership, plant managers, and external vendors to align data initiatives with business objectives.
• Oversee the integration and management of data from eight different sources.

Qualifications

• Strong background in data architecture and/or data engineering, with significant experience in designing and delivering comprehensive data platforms.
• Proven leadership experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
• In-depth understanding of data quality, data governance, and data security in practical scenarios.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to interface with senior leadership and external parties.
• Knowledge of the industrial, manufacturing, mining, or energy sectors is highly desirable.
• Experience with Cloud and on-premise data systems, particularly expertise in Microsoft, with openness to AWS and Databricks.

5-10 years of experience in data architecture and management roles.
